English Speaking Counselling and Psychotherapy in the Dordogne France for Anxiety, Depression, and all issues including Couple Counselling
We are two English Counsellors and Psychotherapists living in France, in Plazac in the Perigord Noir area of the Dordogne. Julia works both with individuals or couples or can also offer Couple Counselling in English. David offers individual counselling or psychotherapy in English. Whether you choose David or Julia, we can both see you either in person at Plazac (near to Montignac, Rouffignac and Les Eyzies) or if you live far away in France, we can offer on-line counselling via skype or telephone. Usually we see people once a week for one hour until they are better, and no longer need any more sessions. But if you live far away, we can also offer you a double session every other week.
We are both fully qualified experienced Counsellors and Psychotherapists and will make the time to see you as soon as possible, either in person, online on skype or via telephone. Whichever one of us you choose to work with, we will treat you with empathy and understanding, and we will help you resolve whatever it is that is troubling you. We will provide you with a confidential and safe space to talk about what is distressing or disturbing you without judgement or criticism. We will treat you like a person not a case.
Whatever the issue, Counselling and Psychotherapy can really help.
However big or small the issue is, we can help. Perhaps you are feeling alone and have no-one to talk to or are confused and don’t know which way to turn, perhaps you are having problems with your relationship and need help or are depressed and feel you just can’t go on, or you are feeling anxious and this is affecting your life and relationship in a negative way. Perhaps you just need a bit of clarification or some life-coaching to help get you back on track.

Montignac Counselling & Psychotherapy was established by Dr. David Blass, Psychotherapist and Counsellor, and Julia Pikal Psychotherapist and Counsellor, in 2016 for English speaking clients in the Perigord Noir and the Dordogne. Julia & David moved to the Perigord Noir from the UK in 2016 where they had run a successful practice in Harley Street, London W1 and West Berkshire.
They are both experienced, qualified and registered Psychotherapists and Counsellors. Their practice is currently based near the village of Plazac, near Montignac, Rouffignac, Les Eyzies, Sarlat and Perigueux.

We can offer you short term or long term Psychotherapy and Counselling for the more usual issues like relationships difficulties, marriage guidance, low self-esteem, depression and anxiety, problems at work or with your family. However we also offer a more in depth and supportive service for those who are feeling very distressed or feel you have a more serious mental condition. Julia also specialises in couple counselling, marriage guidance and any kind of relationship problem. David specialises in treating depression, anxiety and motivational issues.
Dr. David Blass is Jungian Analyst, Analytical Psychologist and Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor. He is also a Supervisor, Seminar Leader and Lecturer for the Guild of Analytical Psychology and a member of the Independent Group of Analytical Psychologists, The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. He is also a past Chairman of the C G Jung Analytical Psychology Club.
Julia Pikal is an Integrative/Transpersonal Psychotherapist and Counsellor. She also offers Couple Counselling, Life Coaching and Family Therapy. She is a member of the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education, and The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
What kind of problems make people seek Counselling and Psychotherapy?
Life throws many difficulties our way such as relationship problems, the loss of someone we love, family disputes, problems at work, money worries, or we realise that we have a serious issue that just won’t go away of its own accord, or a problem, that we cannot cope with any longer without help. Sometimes it is the way other people, especially those who are precious to us, respond to us, that makes us realise we must seek help. Throughout our lives, we are challenged by difficult situations such as loss, money worries, relationship difficulties, problems at work, bullying, redundancy and the like, and this can lead to feelings of anxiety, stress or a feeling of being out of control. Sometimes we feel so depressed because we feel helpless and hopeless, unable to move forward or know what direction to turn in. Often we feel alone and isolated and it feels like there is no-one we can talk to about our issues.
Whatever the situation or issue, talking to a Counsellor or Psychotherapist in a confidential and private setting who is objective, understanding and sympathetic can feel like a burden is lifting from your shoulders. Counselling or Psychotherapy can help you see things more clearly, help you understand and resolve what is troubling you, help you deal with a difficult situation and help you become the person you really are, so you can achieve a happier and healthier life at home and at work. What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?
Counselling deals mostly with situations and problems that have arisen in our personal situation, such as in work and in relationships.
Psychotherapy deals more with aspects of our personality that we are finding difficult or painful.
